How did you and your husband meet?
Angus and I met at high school, we were good friends at the time but it wasn’t until he invited me to watch a Sydney Swans final almost 10 years later that we started dating.

How did he propose?
Angus proposed by planning a date night – he had shared with me that we would be heading to Clareville for dinner & that we would stop for a drink on the way. As we drove through Newport & Avalon I made suggestions for where we could stop for a drink but he wasn’t having a bar of it.

A few streets before the restaurant (Clareville Kiosk) he pulled into an Airbnb where he’d spent the day setting up & popped the question.

Immediately after, we spent some quiet moments together soaking up the excitement before facetiming our favourite people and heading off to dinner.

What was your vision for your wedding day?
A vibrant, fun and love-filled day celebrating our union surrounded by our family and friends.

Where did you look for your wedding gown inspiration? (What tools/sites did you use to gather your inspiration)
All over the place! Predominantly magazines, Instagram, Pinterest and more.

What drew you to your gown from Helen Rodrigues Bridal?
I was drawn to a particular Monique Lhuillier gown and knew Helen Rodrigues was the place to go!

What was the biggest decision you had to make?
We found the trickiest part of planning our Wedding was deciding on a venue. We were torn between an intimate gathering and a big party with all the special people in our lives. We wanted to ensure the space was large enough in size to accommodate our guest list but maintained warmth and ultimately felt like somewhere we would be happy to visit for a social outing. We ended up deciding that we couldn’t get married without all of those most important to us in one room & settled on Manly Pavilion.

What was the highlight of your wedding day for you?
Dancing the night away as husband and wife surrounded by people who mean so much to us from all eras of our lives.

Is there anything you would do differently?
Not a thing! We felt it was perfect.

Is there any advice you would give other #HRBride’s?
Soak it all up – revel in the excitement.

What attracted you to Helen Rodrigues Bridal?
The wonderful curation of designers Helen and the team source.

Helen and the team kindly assisted in ordering in a design I had my eye on from a previous collection. Once the gown arrived Helen and the team were gracious in accommodating my schedule for appointments and fittings which made all the difference. Big thanks to the HR team for helping me find the perfect dress x
